Privacy Policy


The protection of your personal data (i.e. any information relating to an identified or identifiable person) is of paramount importance to Weavus ("Weavus" or "we"), an application developed personally by Mr François BONIFACE.

The purpose of this policy is to explain why and how we process the personal data (which includes, in particular, the collection, use and sharing of data) of Weavus users ("Users", "you"). It also sets out the rights you have in relation to your own data in accordance with applicable regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").


1. What categories of data do we process?

We collect and process the following categories of data:

User interaction Data relating to events organized on the application proposed by Weavus: title, dates, location, description, list of organizers, list of guests and their responses, messages, expenses, photos and videos.


In general, we do not process data belonging to so-called "special" categories of personal data, i.e. data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs or trade union membership, genetic or biometric data for the purpose of identifying an individual, or data concerning health, sex life or sexual orientation. If we obtain this type of data, we process it only if the applicable law and a legal basis allow us to do so. For example, we may need to process such sensitive data when you have given your explicit consent to do so, when it is necessary for the exercise of a legal right or when you have manifestly made such data public.


2. How do we collect your personal data?

We obtain your personal data directly from you when you create an account to use the Weavus application or when you interact with us.

If you choose not to provide your personal data, it is possible that this may prevent us from processing your account request or providing you with some of our services.


3. Where is your data stored?

Your data is stored in the data centers of our cloud service providers located on the territory of the European Union.


4. For what purposes do we process your data?

We process your personal data for the purposes detailed below.

5. What are the legal bases for processing your data?

We process your personal data on the legal grounds described below. In some cases, more than one legal basis may apply to the same processing operation.

Processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of Weavus, unless your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms prevail. Our legitimate interests include in particular:

  • The provision, improvement and development of our services to Users

  • Our internal organization and the management of our files and records

  • Compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations

  • Our defense in the event of litigation

Consent In certain specific cases, we will seek your consent to process your data. You may withdraw your consent at any time, provided that such withdrawal does not invalidate any processing based on your previously given consent. In this case, we may continue to process your data if another legal basis is applicable.


6. With whom is your data shared?

We may share your personal data with the categories of third parties listed below.

7. How long do we keep your data?

We retain your personal data for a limited period not exceeding that necessary for the purposes described in paragraph 3 above. In general, we retain your personal data for as long as you maintain a Weavus user account and for 30 days thereafter, except where we are required by law to retain your personal data for longer or where we are required to retain your data in connection with legal proceedings that are pending or may arise.

During the entire data retention period, we take technical and organizational security measures against data breaches, i.e. accidental or unlawful alteration, destruction or unauthorized access to data.

We do not store the phone numbers of the contacts of your device phone book. Those numbers are only kept for the duration required to match them with an existing Weavus user account.


8. What are your rights with regard to your personal data?

You have the following rights in relation to your personal data, which you can exercise directly with us (see paragraph 9 "How to contact us").

Rectification You have the right to ask us to rectify or complete your personal data as soon as possible.
Erasure ("right to be forgotten") In certain circumstances, you have the right to ask us to delete data concerning you, in particular when the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Treatment limitation In certain circumstances, you have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your data, in particular when we are considering another request from you (e.g. a request for rectification).
Portability In certain circumstances, you have the right to ask to receive your data and for us to transfer your data to another entity.
Opposition In certain circumstances, you have the right to object to the processing of your data, for example when the processing is based on our legitimate interests to which you object because of your particular situation.
Claim You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority such as the CNIL if you consider that your rights have not been respected or that Weavus has not acted in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Post-mortem instructions You can let us know what you would like to happen to your data in the event of your death.
