What is Weavus?

Weavus is a mobile app that simplifies the planning of events with friends. Its goal is to promote physical interactions and the creation of social links.

Why use Weavus?

Because it's the best way to plan events! An event usually requires several apps or services: chat, expenses, photo, album, lists, forms... Weavus brings all of that in a single app. Try it out for a weekend or holidays and see how it makes life easier 😉

Thanks to its general gallery, Weavus is also the only app that enables you to really enjoy the souvenir-photos shared in yout events instead of losing them in a Google Drive or in a dead discussion.

Downloading and using Weavus also means supporting technology at the service of real life. Social media sadly tend to isolate and divide us, and make us sad. We want to do the exact opposite 😊

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, otherwise other users wouldn't know who you are. A social app without account doesn't exist. However, we simplified the process as much as possible: no username or password to remember, your account is secured by SMS, and we just ask for your first and last names for your friends to identify you.

Is Weavus free?

Yes, Weavus is entirely free as in beer and free of ads, for now.

But we'll need to earn a living at some point, and we'd prefer avoiding ads to preserve an outstanding user experience, so we'll likely introduce a premium version in the future.

How do contacts work?

Weavus has no notion of a friend for now, but we're thinking of introducing one soon.

How can I invite people to my event if they don't have the app or aren't in my contacts?

Send them the link to your event! Then your friends can easily join it from the app. It is for now required to use the app to join a Weavus event. If some of your friends don't want to download the app, they can still see your event's basic information on the web.

We will soon add the possibility to send grouped SMS to contacts from your phone who don't have an account and that you would like to invite to an event.

How to handle the expenses of someone who doesn't have an account or isn't on the event?

As of now, there is no good way of doing so. You have to decide on a participant with the app and assign him or her the expenses of the "ghost participant", and they will settle their debts afterwards. We're working on a way of accounting for participants who don't have the app.

How do currencies work?

You can choose between over 100 currencies for your expenses. Each event has a base currency, which can be changed before entering the first expense but not after. Budgets, balances, and transfers are calculated in the event currency.

Expenses in a different currency are converted to the event currency using the exchange rate defined at the creation of the expense. We provide official exchange rates provided by the European Central Bank for certain pairs of currencies. For others, we let you enter a rate for the first expense, and then we will suggest the last rate used in the event for the following expenses in that currency.

Finally, you can define your preferred currency in your profil, which will be used as the default base currency for events that you create.
